EQ can be linked to many e-mail providers or linked to an installation of Outlook, if it is on the same PC as EQ. For further email setup help read the article System Config; Email setup.
Once your email provider is configured you can send emails from multiple places in EQ. This article covers:

Send email to a customer
To send an email you need to have an email address saved against your customer. See How to add or edit a customer.
You can also email a customer directly:
- Open the Customer List from the main toolbar.
- Use Find or Filter or scroll down to select the customer you wish to email
- Click the Email icon the left:
- The new email message is addressed to your customer already.
You can add any other recipients by clicking To button (selects from the EQ contacts) or type additional email addresses with a semi-colon (;) between the addresses: - Enter the email subject and then begin writing your email.
You can standardise the content of your emails by using templates to send consistent standard emails quickly. Read more in Email & Text Templates. - Click Send and the email will be sent.
Your email is sent and a record is added to the customer's Communication tab.
Send a document via email to a customer (e.g. a quote PDF)
You can send any printed document as a PDF file and automatically attach it to an email. This can be used for quotes, contracts, delivery notes, invoices, receipts and more.
- Click Print to create your document. For example printing a sales contract/acknowledgement you will use the Ack button on an order:
- On the Printing Options screen select Email PDF:
A new email will be created, your customer's address is already filled in and the PDF of the document is attached. - You just need to type a subject and the rest of your message (or select from an email template).
- Click Send.
Your email is sent and a record is added to the customer's Communication tab.
Shortcuts to send email
In the projects screens, double-click the customer name to show the shortcut card and click the email icon:
Send email to a supplier
You can send an email to a supplier whether you downloaded the supplier with a catalogue from EQ, or if you added your own supplier (as long as you entered an email address).
- Click Supplier List from the main toolbar:
- Locate the supplier you want to email by pressing the first letter of the name or scrolling down the list.
- Click the Email button on the left.
- The new email message is addressed to your Supplier already.
