EQ Flex is the latest version of EQ (version 18 and above) that is available through a web browser.
Printing through a web browser differs to printing via desktop applications.
This article describes how to print on EQ Flex when accessed via web browser. (It does not apply when EQ is installed on your own local server and computers).
Printing New Documents
In EQ Flex local printers will not be visible. Instead, a "Remote Dekstop Virtual Printer" will be available.
To use the virtual printer to print new documents in EQ Flex, follow thes steps:
- Select to print the document of choice in EQ Flex.
- With the Remote Desktop Virtual Printer set as the printer, select the Print button.
If the Remote Desktop Virtual Printer is not already set as the printer, select the Printers button and pick Remote Desktop Virtual Printer from the printer list, followed by the OK button to set the printer.
A PDF copy of the document will be downloaded to the local machine and automatically opened in a new tab.
- Once opened, select the Print button at the top of the browser window, followed by the printer of choice. This screen will list all the printers available on your local computer including specific devices and settings for label printers.
Printing Existing Documents
Archived documents are typically located within the customer folders.
To use the virtual printer to print existing documents in EQ Flex, follow thes steps:
- In EQ Flex, select the customer that the file is against, followed by the Folder button on the left side menu to open the customer's EQ Flex folder.
For files saved to folders outside of the customer folder, the customer Folder button can be used to open File Explorer, allowing navigation to the saved file.
- Right-click and Print the file.
OR (If Print is not available for that file type)
Double-click to open the file, select File from the men bar (top left) and then Print. Ensure Remote Desktop Virtual Printer is the selected printer.
A PDF copy of the document will be downloaded to the local machine and automatically opened in a new tab.
- Once opened, select the Print button at the top of the browser window, followed by the printer of choice.
When files are intended to be printed, or have a local PDF copy created, these print methods can be used as a quick way to download files.
If the original file format is wanted to be kept, a file download (hyperlink once done) would be required.
