Use a freecode product when you want to add something unique/special to a quote that is not in any standard catalogues or in My Catalogue. They can be used for one-off additions, bespoke products or additional charges.

Add a standard freecode to a quote
How to add a product line directly to a quote or order. The product is always in the group Accessories.
Before you begin you need to have an open quote/order and be in Edit mode,

Right-click on the Add Product button.
- Click in the product code box to type in a product code of your choice.
- Click in the description box to enter a description of your choice.

Right-click on the newly created product code and click Sales Options.
This will show you 2 boxes to input a cost price and a selling price. If you only enter a price on the quote screen, the cost price will remain at £0.
- If the supplier column is shown on the quote screen, select a supplier from the drop down box.
If the required supplier is not in the list, go to Suppliers and click Add. If you do not select a supplier, when you come to place the purchase orders you will be given the same list to select a supplier.
Continue to work with the quote/sales order as normal. You can have multiple free code products on a quote.
Add a freecode in a product group
How to add a product line directly to a quote or order. When you add free code products, the default product group will be accessories. This grouping affects the quote layout, i.e. the sub-heading where the product appears.
Before you begin you need to have an open quote/order and be in Edit mode,
To pick the group that the product uses right-click on the down arrow next to Add button and select the group to add the product into.
Then continue the steps as above to enter a code, description and prices.
Add a freecode to My Catalogue
Once you have entered a freecode onto your quote/order with code, description and pricing, if you decide you may want to use that product in the future you can add it directly to My Catalogue from here.
Right-click on the product code you created and select Create in My Catalogue.
The product is now saved and can be added to future quotes and orders.
