Headings is the screen where you setup your fitted furniture catalogue with range, colours and other choices when you start a new quote.
(If you are using a Quick Quote, without fitted furniture, you won't have these options on a Headings screen. You can convert between full quotes and quick quotes.)
Multiple headings allow you to use more than one range of furniture in the same quotation, including furniture from other catalogues (since EQ version 17.8 and EQ Flex version 18).
To mix ranges or catalogues create headings for your furniture catalogue selections, and as part of your headings you can select from any furniture catalogues.

Recommended Settings
Before you begin adding products with multiple headings it is recommended that you enable 2 settings in System Config (or ask your EQ administrator to enable it for you). In System Config > Quotations & Pricing > Configuration:
You need to Update, close and then re-open EQ for the change to take effect. |
Create a Heading
You can be creating a brand new quote or editing an existing quote or sales order.
Headings are only available on furniture quotes. If you started with a Quick Quote you can convert a quick quote to a furniture quote.
- Open your quote and click Edit at the bottom left.
- Click the arrow next to Heading and select Create Heading
(A furniture quote always has 1 default main heading).
The Headings window opens so you can select any manufacturer and the respective catalogue furniture options.
- Type a new name into Heading Title.
This helps you label the heading so you know which products it applies to. For example, you could use a different heading for feature units, a kitchen island, or adding in a utility room too:
- Select your Manufacturer from the drop down list. This can be any fitted furniture catalogue, either complete furniture or component based.
- Complete the remaining prompts for group, ranges, colours, finishes and handles, depending on what the catalogue asks for.
(You will only see a My Range prompt if you have selected to use Component Headings (My Range).
- Click OK.
You now have a new heading created, ready to add in products.
Add products in selected Headings
You need to create at least 1 heading (steps as above) before you can continue.
- Click the Add button.
If you have the suggested option enabled you will be shown a list of all the quote's headings:
It shows the catalogue name and heading title you typed for each Heading.
- Click the heading title for the product(s) you want to add.
- The Search screen will open and your furniture catalogue will be at the top of the list, as usual.
Use the screen to add products to your basket, or add directly to the quote.
- You can repeat the process to continue adding your products.
You can continue to build your quote, adding all products into the headings you need. All appliances and other products can be added to their relevant headings.
If you are adding Fitting using the Fitting Calculator you can select the arrow next to Add and pick Add Fitting to show a similar menu:
Once products have been added onto the quote you can change individual products by using the right-click menu, Replace Item…
- Replace Item Alternative Heading lets you change that product for another product using any of the headings.
- Change to Alternative Heading swaps the existing product into a different range.
Printouts
All products on quotations, acknowledgements, factory orders and other documents, with an alternative heading, will be displayed with their heading range preceding their name. E.g. [Main Units] Base Unit 600mm.
Example default quote printout:
There will be a page break between different headings, with a sub-total on each page and grant quote total on the final page.
The purchase order paperwork/e-mails also label the product with the alternative range headings.
To show products more clearly, you can change a setting that displays your own heading name in the headings section with the furniture information. For example here is the own heading Main Units in the header and the product descriptions are cleaner. The sub-total for the heading is below: To enable this setting enter System Config:
