My Catalogue allows you to add your own products, if they are not available to download in a manufacturer catalogue. This is useful for small suppliers or miscellaneous products. It is not recommended to use for furniture products (as there are no range options).
This article covers:
- How to add a new product
- Sub-catalogues in My Catalogue
- How to add a My Catalogue product to a quote
How to add a new product
Follow the steps below to add a new own product to My Catalogue.
- From the top menu bar click My Catalogue:
- Click Add to display a blank Product Details tab:
- Select a sub-My Catalogue name from the Catalogue drop down, if you have these setup (see section below Sub-Catalogues in My Catalogue).
- Add your product details as required.
All fields from Code to Selling Price are compulsory but extra options on the right-hand side can be left blank if not required.
Pricing:
You can enter exact cost and sell price values, or you could enter a cost price and a margin and allow EQ to calculate the selling price for you.
You can add advanced products that calculate special prices, see article My Catalogue Special Priced Products.
For more detail on Product Details see this article.
You can select further advanced options on the Additional Info tab. For full details see the article Additional Info tab.
- If you need to, add an image and/or specification in the boxes provided. The more product information that is added here, the more that can be displayed on screen and on your printed documents.
- Click Update to save the product.
It is now ready to be used.
To show all new product details (such as dimensions) you will need to close EQ and re-open it so that the product database is refreshed.
Sub-Catalogues in My Catalogue
It is recommended to complete the Catalogue title. This creates "sub-catalogues" within My Catalogue and can help you find and filter for products more easily than if they were all in one list.
Select the Edit Pop Up Contents button and add your own catalogue title to the list. You cannot add a catalogue title if you are adding or editing a product, you should do it first.
How to add a My Catalogue product to a quote
When you wish to add an own product to a quote use the search screen as normal.
You can enter the code to search across all catalogues, or, as with any catalogue, you can scroll down and select My Catalogue from the bottom of the catalogues list, to narrow the search.
If you have used sub-catalogues to split apart your product list, all of these will be listed beginning with My Catalogue.
