When you use the Stock Control system in EQ Professional you can keep track of your products, their quantities and their locations. This can help with stock movement and stock takes, as well as allowing you to make use of an easy stock re-ordering screen.
All stock products are entered into stock locations. There is 1 location called Default Location. This is used for all booking out of products.
To correctly use stock control you need to be using EQ's features to create picking lists (at the point of purchase ordering) and using advanced delivery notes (lists products).
Overview of stock
- Product is entered with an opening stock quantity.
- Product is on a quotation which is sold, and becomes a sales order.
- The sales order has purchase orders placed, and picking lists for stock items. At the point of a picking list, stock quantity is allocated to the order number.
- When the sales order's delivery note is created that stock quantity is booked out (it is decreased now).
Multiple stock locations
EQ can hold stock quantities against multiple locations, such as backup warehouses for example.
Additional locations can be added but when picking lists and delivery notes are used, stock is only allocated and booked out from the Default Location.
To make use of additional stock locations you will need to use the Stock Transfer option to manually move quantity of products into the default location, so they can be used.
On a stocked product's Stock Details tab, click the Edit Popup Contents icon to see a split of the product quantity across your locations:
