Follow the steps below when in the Stock screen to create a new stock record. You must do this to put an item into stock for the first time. Once a product is in stock you can manage the quantity and re-order levels and instead of a purchase order being raised EQ will present you with a stock picking list instead.
Click the Stock Control icon on the top toolbar:
(Or you may have followed a shortcut from the Product Catalogues screen > Stock mini tab)
1. Click Add then click Add Stock Item from Product Database, which will bring up the product selector.
2. Use product search to locate an item.
(If the product you require is not in the list you need to add it to My Catalogue first)
3. Click Select Product to bring the New Stock Item window.
4. The code, description, colour and manufacturer will be completed but can be edited if needed. Dimensions are optional.
5. Select a Location. It is advisable to leave it as Default Location unless you intend on using the stock transfer function. Speak to technical support for more information.
6. Select a Bin/Shelf if necessary. To edit or add to Bin/Shelf list click Edit Popup Contents button.
7. Select a Category if necessary. To edit or add to category click Edit Popup Contents button.
8. Enter an opening stock quantity.
9. The cost price will already be completed and this can be left or amended.
10. Click Create Stock Item and the window will close. Your product is now in stock.
