Your serial number identifies your EQ licence. It can be helpful to the support team to troubleshoot licence activations and deactivations. The serial number is unique to each computer that EQ is installed on and support may ask you to send it to them.
| This article applies to EQ installed on desktop computers. It is not relevant for customers of EQ on hosted servers or customers of EQ Flex. |
To find your serial number, follow these steps:
- Locate your EQ shortcut icon (on your desktop or taskbar) and right-click the icon.
- Select Open File Location:
- A Windows folder will open showing files.
Scroll down to locate serial.txt and double-click to open it:
(You may not see the .txt part of the name)
- The file opens in Notepad showing the long number:
You can highlight the text and copy it (Use Ctrl + C on the keyboard).
You can then paste it into an email or chat with EQ support. (Use Ctrl + V to paste).
