Quotation Groups are determined by the product's type and category which are set within the catalogue you have downloaded (or, for your own products, set by a user in My Catalogue). They are colour-coded lines on the quote screen and can appear as sub-headings when you print a quote or acknowledgement.
By default when you produce a Quick Quote the Groups show the appropriate group name according to the product. When you produce a Full Furniture Quote (where furniture products require price group/range selection) the Groups will default to "Furniture" for all product types.

An example use case is in some furniture catalogues, there are also some non-furniture products such as lighting, worktops and other accessories.
How to change Quotation Groups default behaviour for Furniture
Since EQ version 17.5.9 it is possible to change the behaviour of Groups in furniture quotes, so that the Groups always respect the product categories to show Product Groups. You would see "Lighting" for example, rather than the override to "Furniture".
You need to access the setting in System Config > Quotation Layout under the heading Quotation Grouping:
The option Respect product Quote Groups instead of defaulting to 'Furniture' will be un-ticked by default. This means products within furniture catalogues always show a Quotation Group of "Furniture".
Tick this option and then the products will always respect the group they are in, not just "Furniture".
For further options with Quotation Groups refer to the article: How to change Quotation Groups (sub-headings on a quote).
