You can create a design in Winner and import the product list into EQ to quickly produce a quote using EQ's catalogue data and prices.
The following instructions apply when EQ and Winner are installed on the same computer. If Winner is on a different PC, refer to this article instead: Import a plan from Winner Design (separate PC to EQ).
Before you begin:
- You need to have the Winner link activated on your licence. If you do not see the Winner button in step 2 please contact EQ support on live chat.
- You should set EQ to use Customer folders in System Config > Document Archiving

Click-through guide
Instead of the video you can click through EQ and Winner in just 10 steps in this guide (opens in new tab).
Topics covered here:
- Create a new plan
- Opening an existing Winner plan
- Importing your plan into a quote (matching products)
- Importing your plan into a quote (freecodes)
- Copying a plan using Open As
Create a new plan
-
In EQ click Customer List on the top toolbar:
-
Create a new customer, or locate an existing customer.
-
Click the Plan button on the left with the Winner icon:
-
Winner opens with a new blank plan. The plan file will be saved in your EQ customer folder.
- Design your plan as normal, then save and exit Winner when you have completed the design.
- When you exit Winner a list of products is automatically created in a file, and this is saved in your customer folder too. You do not need to do anything with the file.
-
If you need to edit the plan or open it, you should always do so from within EQ because every change will automatically be saved back into your EQ customer folder.
-
- Go to the EQ Customer List screen.
- Click the
drop down arrow on the Plan button.
- Click the plan name [NAME.DRW]:
- Your plan opens in Winner so you can continue working.
- Save changes in Winner.
- Close Winner to make a new file with the changes.
-
Now proceed to the section Importing a plan into a quote.
Opening an existing Winner plan
If you already have a Winner plan saved elsewhere (on the same PC as EQ):
- Open EQ's Customer List from the top toolbar
-
Use the drop down arrow next to Plan and pick Copy existing plan into Customer Folder:
-
A browse box opens for you to locate your existing plan. By default these could be saved into C:\Winner.
Find the name of your plan and click OK.
- You will be informed the plan was copied successfully. If you want to continue working in the plan, do so by opening the plan via EQ, as per step 7 above.
You are ready to import your plan into a quote using either method below:
Matching products - use this to select EQ catalogue products.
Freecodes - use this to import the Winner product code, description and price "as is".
Import your plan into a quote (matching products)
Once you have finished your plan you are now ready to import the products to EQ.
-
Create a quote by clicking the New button on the customer screen:
-
Complete the heading options for your manufacturer and colour choices as required and click OK.
-
From the blank quote, on the bottom toolbar click the
drop down arrow next to the New Plan button. Click on Import from [PLAN NAME].E01:
The Match Products screen opens.
Here you can select the items you wish to import by putting a X in the box to the left of each one:
In the left hand window, you will see the products imported from Winner and when you click on a product, displayed on the right hand side are the EQ equivalents.
Unmatched red products
-
Products that appear in red do not currently match to an EQ product. Click on a red product and click Match Products button. You will then be able to use the Product Details screen to select an appropriate product code in EQ.
When you select the product, you will be asked if you would like to link this product in the future. Click Yes and the selection will be remembered the next time you import that code.
Matched black productsProducts in black without an X mark require you to select an alternative from the right of the screen, because EQ is presenting multiple options for the code.
Products in black with an X are already matched and selected. No action is required.
-
Import Products
Once you have selected the items you require (all these items are now identified with an X in the box) click Import Products at the bottom. These will be priced and added to the quotation.
Whilst importing you may encounter some prompt boxes, such as a door selector or a screen to choose product options. Choose the relevant options to continue to the quotation screen displaying all of your products.
Import your plan into a quote (freecodes)
Importing as a freecode means that instead of matching product codes to EQ's catalogue database, the products will be imported exactly as they come from Winner. This means the code, description, notes and price are all used from Winner and created as new line items on your EQ quote. This is useful if you do not have an EQ catalogue to match products to, because you can still continue processing your order in EQ.
-
Create a quote by clicking the New button on the customer screen:
-
Complete the heading options for your manufacturer and colour choices as required and click OK.
- Select Import (Free Codes)… > and select the name of your plan:
- The CAD Import window opens showing your products as below:
Tick each product line under Import to select it for import, or click Select All at the bottom.
These products will import as “freecode products” in EQ which means the code, description and pricing from Winner will be used on the EQ quotation. The products will not use EQ’s catalogue data.
- You can select an EQ product to use on individual product lines (for example you may have an appliance catalogue to match to):
Right-click the Catalogue Code column and either select Import As or Always Import As. The latter will remember the link for future imports. You will be presented with the EQ search screen to locate a product.
- Once you have selected all the products you require, click Import. The quote will be populated.
You can now continue to work with the quotation in EQ as usual.
Copying a plan using Open As
If you want to make an alteration to a plan but keep the original as well, follow these steps:
-
Go to the Customer List button in EQ and find your customer.
-
Click the
drop down arrow on the Plan button and then click Open As... and pick your [PLAN NAME.E01]:
- Winner will prompt you to enter a name for the copy and then open ready for editing.
- Make your changes to the plan as normal in Winner.
- Because this plan has been saved in the EQ folder, when you exit Winner the drawing and import files will be automatically created. You could then import this following steps in the section Importing a plan into a quote.
