These instructions have been replaced, with a new Virtual Worlds integration with EQ version 17.6.1 and above. Please follow this link to these instructions.
The instructions below apply to importing old legacy item list (TXT) files from Virtual Worlds.
It is possible to create a plan in Virtual Worlds CAD software and import the product list into an EQ quote to save the need to manually re-enter products.
In Virtual Worlds
Depending on your Virtual Worlds licence you may need to have their pricing module activated to perform an export. Contact Virtual Worlds for more information.
- Have your completed plan saved and open.
- Click on File > Export > Item List
- Type a name for your export file (e.g. customer's name or a reference number). Make sure you know where you have saved this.
Note: This file needs to be saved in a location where you can access it in EQ, e.g. in a shared folder if you need to get to it on a different PC
In EQ:
- Click Customer list (and either go to an existing customer, or Add a new customer).
- Click New Quote
- Select the furniture manufacturer and range details, and click OK to start a blank quote.
- Click Current Quotation from the menu bar and click CAD > Import from CAD System
- Pick your CAD system from the list:
Logicom (Catalogue) – If you have used a manufacturer’s catalogue and codes to design in
OR
Logicom (Generic) – If you have used a generic catalogue. - Click Import and browse to the location where you saved the item list. If you cannot see the file, change the Files of Type box to *.TXT.
- Click on the file and chose OK.
The Match Products screen, shown below, lists the products from the CAD system.
In the left hand window pane, you will see the products imported from your CAD system and when you click on a product, on the right hand side are the EQ equivalents.
a. Products that appear in red do not currently match up with the EQ catalogues. Click on a red product and then click Search from the toolbar. You will then be able to use the Product Details screen to select an appropriate alternative.
b. When you select the product, you will be asked if you would like to link this product in the future. Press Yes and the selection will be remembered next time you import from your CAD system - When you have finished click the Import Products button at the bottom of the window.
All the products will be added to your quotation. You can continue to work with your quotation screen as normal.
Note: Whilst importing you may encounter some prompt boxes, such as a door selector or a screen to choose an appliance cover. Choose the relevant options to continue to reach the quotation screen.
