An itemised credit note allows you to create a credit note for the value of a specified product or products on your sales order. (If you wish to create a credit note for any value, not tied to products, see Create a Free Type Credit Note).
Before first use, you must enable itemised credit notes in System Config > Invoice Layout > Enable Itemised Credit Note. You may wish to disable free type credit notes with the next tick box to ensure all users perform credits in the same way.
- Right-click an order reference number
- Select Invoicing & Payments... and select Itemised Credit
- The credit opens, so click Edit to begin. (This screen works similarly to the quote/order screen.
- Click the arrow by Add > select Original Order Items to select some products from the original sales order
- Continue to add products up to the value of the desired credit.
- Click Save on the bottom toolbar.
(Read this article for more information about VAT reverse charge on invoices and credit notes) - Click Print to preview, print or email a PDF. The document will show the product(s) and the value(s) with the nett and VAT totals.
A saved itemised credit note will be saved along with the list of other invoices and credits against your customer.
