Create templates to send e-mails and text messages from EQ. You can use merge fields so that content can be personalised and contain data straight out of your EQ customer database. Emails and text messages can be sent individually to customers or using filters you can send bulk emails and messages.
1. Open the Customer List or Supplier List using the button on the top toolbar.
2. Click the Email button on the left hand side of the screen.
3. Click the Edit Popup Contents icon next to Email Template at the top:
4. Click Add to add a new template name to the list on the left.
5. Enter a section and a subject (the e-mail subject)
6. Select Email or Text as the Type. Content can be created the same way for both but restricted to 160 characters for a text message.
7. Enter the main text of the e-mail.
8. Click the Merge Fields button to display a list of the data that you can merge into the messages. E.g. click Customer>Forename and the field |C_FORENAME| will appear. Continue to write your template and use merge fields.
For e-mails full HTML e-mail is supported so you can embed pictures, tables and change font properties.
When embedding a picture you can either:
Insert web image to link to a picture already on the Internet e.g. on your website.
Insert local image to use a picture on your computer.
Please note: If you add an image to an email template and you use EQ on a multi-user system, you must link the image from a location that is accessible for all possible users of the template (e.g. link an image on a network location, if the image is only on your PC it will not work).
Click Update when you have completed a template to save and close the window.
