Customer types are where you can define settings that apply to a group of customers. The settings include document titles and payment stages. You could have different customer types for retail and trade customers for example. This article covers:
Add and select a customer type
NOTE
Settings in Customer Type override the defaults in System Config. If you make a change and it does not have any effect check your customer type.
Add and select a customer type
1. Click Customer List on the top toolbar
2. Select a customer and click the General tab.
3. Click the Edit Popup Comments button, to the right of the Customer Type drop down box.
4. Click Add to add a new customer type to the list on the left and press Update.
5. Now pick a desired Customer Type from the drop down box.
Document Titles

These settings at customer type override those that may be set in System Config > Payment stages. Any customer without a customer type defined will use the rules in System Config.
