Assemblies allow you to assign your own components to a product to make your own sub-assemblies. They allow easy adding of related products to a quote/order. You can use this in conjunction with My Catalogue products to make your own "packs" or combinations of products and accessories that can be added all at once with 1 click, or can prompt the user whether to select components or not.
This article covers:
Create Assemblies
- Click Product Catalogues arrow and select Assemblies.
- Click Add Assembly on the top window pane.
- Use the search to find the main product, e.g. a furniture product
OR
Click Add Product Group to add an entire group of products at once, e.g. all single base units. This is very useful when you have lots of products that all need the same components. - Click Add Component on the bottom window pane, use the search to find the component to add, e.g. an accessory.
This will attach the component to the main item so that when it is added to the quotation it will automatically offer to add both products. You can respond "No" at the time, if you don't want to add it. - Once added, each component has 3 tick boxes for separate options:
FOC Free of Charge
Tick this to add the component with no sales price. When added to a quote the component will be £0.00
Cmp Compulsory
Tick this to set the component as compulsory, forcing the user to add the item to the quote. (No ability to cancel the item during adding).
Main Promote to Main Item
Tick this to make the component add to the quote as a Main Item, rather than a sub item.
When you have finished exit by clicking Update.
